Gamer Girl: Casual Edition

I am a gamer. I enjoy various platforms, including 3DS, PC, and Xbox. And while I really enjoy the escape of gaming and have at times worried I'm a statistic for the displacement hypothesis, I have used gaming to procrastinate homework assignment, I was grateful that I have never developed an addiction.

I do binge in massed practice when I first buy a game, but most weeks I am very distributed. Some weeks I don't have time to play at all. Others I play 3-4 hours or even 6-8. But hardly ever more then that.

Learning about all the difficultly and withdraw with video gaming made me both grateful I don't have that, aware of people I know who probably do, and a desire to protect my future family from those effects.

I also say that in moderation and as a stress relief I think gaming helps me do better in my schoolwork. You have to have balance in life and use time management so I think it just depends on your power of decision and your self-control.

I will always enjoy the casual gaming lifestyle. And I think it helped shape my life.

My Life Goals

Lisa's Life Goals

A friend and I were recently talking about The Bucket List (the movie) and making our own bucket lists. I had written a bucket list that was supposed to have one hundred items, I reached 97, and I decided to go through the list and look at the items I hadn't yet accomplished and actually still wanted to accomplish. This is the edited list from about 5 years ago of what I still want to accomplish in my life. Most involve travel and learning.

1. Marry a worthy Priesthood holder in the Temple

2. Visit every Temple in the world

4. Backpack through Europe

5. Get a private pilot license

6. Write a book

7. Learn martial arts

8. Learn to surf

9. See all seven wonders of the world

10. Learn to scuba dive

And Now a Word From Our Host

La La La Lisa Jean
If you have no interest in knowing whose blog your reading than feel free to skip this post. Seriously. I won't mind. But if you want to know what the almost 20-year-old likes, dislikes, and plans to do with this blog I have a phrase for you: read it and weep! (or just read on).

I am a student working on a major that I am in the process of changing. So once I figure things out it will probably show up in the Meet the Host section. But for now I'm a sophomore in college wanting to work with the special needs population. Figuring out how is the problem!

Likes:
 *Cooking and Eating
*Reading Fantasy or Romance or Fantasy Romance
 *Harry Potter
 *Video Games (PC or 3DS)
*TV Shows: Phineas and Ferb, Castle, Bunheads, Melissa and Joey, New Girl, Baby Daddy, etc.
 *Dancing/Music or Music/Dancing
 *Musicals! Plays! Theatre!
 *Traveling the Globe

And more. But this is probably enough of my likes for now! For dislikes let me just say my biggest pet peeves are people who are needlessly rude and people who don't pick up after themselves. So don't be one of those people. SMILE :)

5 Things to Keep in Mind

1. I'm probably going to be mostly posting about meal planning in the beginning (see next post)
2. I also plan to post about my other interests eventually. Maybe throw some reviews in the mix. So prepare for SURPRISES :)
3. I am a working student. I am busy. I hope to post once a week but this may or may not happen! Forgive me if it doesn't.
4. I am a picky eater. This may show in my recipes/posts. Enough said.
5. I hope you enjoy reading my rambling and take a minute to comment. Constructive comments encouraged! ;)
